How You Can Get It

HOW ARE YOU MANAGING YOUR STORED FUEL SUPPLY?

Dirty diesel and today’s engines don’t mix. With High Pressure Common Rail fuel injection systems having injection pressures up to 45,000 PSI, it is critical, now more than ever, that effective, proven filtration methods are used to keep your diesel fuel clean, and more importantly, ultra dry.

A regularly scheduled fuel cleaning program to clean and dry stored diesel fuel is necessary for engine reliability.  Water, engine damaging particulates and microbes WILL accumulate over time in the tank bottom and sides.  The distribution system contributes to this contamination as fuel is transferred between locations and ultimately to you, the end user.

The SpinClean team provides fuel cleaning services for your stored fuel supply. We know that diesel engine down time or failure can be costly in terms of lost revenue, liability and in mission critical situations that failure can have catastrophic consequences.  This does not have to happen when a SpinClean fuel cleaning program is in place!  We also provide fuel cleaning solutions designed to extend the life of your stored fuel and will support your fuel management goals.

To minimize stored fuel contamination we recommend adopting the following good housekeeping practices:

  • Storage tanks should be kept as full and cool as possible in order to reduce condensation.

  • Tank openings should have tight seals to prevent water and other contaminant incursion as well as the structural integrity of the tank being sound.

  • Monitor tank bottoms frequently and remove accumulated water immediately from tank bottom drain.

  • Proper tank venting is essential and vent caps must be in good working condition.

  • Lab testing and semi-annual/annual fuel cleaning.

  • Sample fuel regularly to ensure the fuel is in peak operating condition.

  • Flat bottom sub-base (belly) tanks REQUIRE regular bottom vacuuming of water.

Magnets and filterless devices will not clean fuel to ISO 18/16/13 standards or remove water to 0.05% requirements.  Engine manufacturers call for cleanliness levels to meet or exceed ISO levels.  Engine damage from dirty diesel could jeopardize your OEM warranty.

ADDING NEW FUEL:  While adding new fuel is not a replacement for a thorough deep cleaning of your fuel and tank bottom, when adding fuel, you would do well to take a sample first, ask where it came from and it's age.  Many times the new fuel has a high level of contaminants and may even fail cleanliness testing.  A very good practice is to call us for a SpinDri™ cleaning after a load of fuel, to get your fuel inspected and deep cleaned.  This ensures that everything else you do to keep your tank clean and dry is well protected.

If your business or facility relies on emergency generator power, a scheduled comprehensive fuel cleaning program provides SECURITY and PEACE OF MIND that the power will be uninterrupted.  We will tailor a cleaning program to your specific needs.
